The B Side is a brief introduction to Bonita, the poet. She
used her poem, The B Side, as the book's title, "this collection of poems are small in format, but have a powerful
message," she said. Some may assume because they are not long in form, they aren't as important.
Bonita, laughs when she remembers the B-Side of the old 45 records. Some of the B-Side songs became more popular than the songs on the A-Side which received the heavy
radio rotation play. Some of those popular B-Side songs are I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor); I'll Be
Around (The Spinners); We are the Champions (Queen); 6 Minutes to Pleasure (LL Cool J); How Come
You Don't Call me Anymore (Prince); and Bonita's favorite Until it's Time for You to Go
(New Birth).
